1.
Review your unit 3 personal assessment
of your psychological, physical, and spiritual well-being. Reflect on these
areas . How did you score yourself on a scale from 1 to 10 in unit 3? How do
you score yourself now? Has the score changed? Why or why not?
In Unit 3 I rated myself as:
Physical wellbeing – 7
Spiritual wellbeing – 2
Psychological wellbeing – 7
I would rate myself currently as:
Physical wellbeing – 8
Spiritual wellbeing – 4
Psychological wellbeing – 7
Yes, some of the scores did improve. My physical wellbeing rating went up slightly
because I have taken steps to eating healthy.
I went back to being a vegetarian.
I was a vegetarian for many years and went back to eating meat. This course has peaked my interested in
reading about health topics and I realized that I really need to go back to my
vegetarian ways. I have also started to
take my daily supplements on a daily basis.
My spiritual wellbeing rating also went up slightly. This course has allowed me to take the
appropriate steps towards my mental health.
I have learned to meditate throughout the day and to also reducing the
stress in my life.
2.
Review the goals and activities you set
for yourself in each area. Have you made progress toward the goals? Explain.
My goals in week 3 were:
Physical – to exercise
Spiritual wellbeing – set aside quiet time for myself a few days a
week
Psychological wellbeing – Take the
stress level down and stop focusing on the past
I have made progress in all three areas. Even though I have not gone back to
exercising just yet, I have started to eat healthier and taking my daily
supplements is a great start. Once I ‘feel’
healthier it is only natural for me to step it up a notch and start
exercising.
I have been taking quiet time for myself several times a
week. I have found this to be beneficial
both mentally and physically for me.
I have been really focusing on my stress level. I have been able to reduce my stress because
I am aware of the triggers. I am happy
with the progress I have made in this area.
I am also not focusing on the past as much. This will take some time for me to change my
thinking pattern, but I have already seen a change.
3.
Have you implemented the activities you
chose for your well-being in each of the three areas? Explain.
Yes, I have implemented some of the activities that I
chose for my well-being in each area. I
have made some progress which allows me to see some small results. The small results will keep me motivated and
I will continue to make changes towards better integral health for myself and
my family.
4.
Summarize your personal experience
throughout this course. Have you developed improved well-being? What has been
rewarding? What has been difficult? How will this experience improve your
ability to assist others?
This course was very enlightening. I truly enjoyed the reading and what I have
learned in this class will stay with me for my lifetime. It has sparked my interested in researching
more health topics in order to improve my overall mind and body wellness. I have always been intrigued with this topic
and this course gave me a good foundation on what integral health is. I have done some research and I am changing
my lifestyle to incorporate more holistic ways to improve my overall
well-being. I am going to a hot yoga
class next week and I will be started a full body detox soon. I have changed my eating habits because it is
true that you are what you eat.
The rewarding part is that this course has re-ignited my
spark to live a holistic lifestyle for myself as well as my family.
The difficult part is just trying to find time to work
everything into my busy schedule. I need
to plan time to meditate, planning out meals, exercising, etc.
This experience has allowed me to share what I learned
with my husband. He is also willing to
change his old ways and lead a healthier lifestyle. He has also taken meat out of his diet and
turning to natural remedies to help fight his cough and sinus issues. My goal is to help him control his stress
level and reduce his complaining about every little thing.
Jessica, I am glad to hear that the class has motivated you to get back on track. I am convinced that the changes we need to make will stick as long as we do not neglect the all important psychological and spiritual aspects of life that many people seem to neglect. Best wishes on your journey. Be well.

Congratulations on your progress! Change is difficult so I think any improvement toward self-improvement should be rewarded. I think it is awesome you are sharing what you have learned with your hubby. This can only strengthen your bond when you have similar health and wellness goals. Although you may be making small changes they will eventually add up to better health.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes and stay positive!
